Christmas holidays usually mean a two-week break from physical activity or the gym, but it doesn’t have to be like this. There are so many ways that you can stay active and squeeze in a sneaky workout without taking time away from your holiday fun!
- Count Your Steps, You Won’t Believe How Many You Do!
Get yourself a pedometer or wear our BodyKey® InBody Band to help you keep track of your steps over the holidays. Aim for 10,000 steps a day, and by cleaning the house, chasing the kids, shopping at the mall, walking on the beach, you’ll be surprised by how quickly these steps add up.
- Treat Your Self
I know I need a little extra motivation to get myself to the gym each day, and it is fair to say that we need even more motivation when we are trying to fit time into our busy Christmas schedules. But are we really going to miss that 20 minutes in the morning before our day begins? Why not set yourself a goal for a 20 minute walk every morning, or even something as simple as taking the stairs rather than the elevator. If you can keep it up for 5 days in a row, reward yourself by getting a massage or doing something you enjoy.
- Write A List, And Check It Twice
When going away for Christmas, it is important to plan ahead, if you want to stay active that is. Get off to a flying start, by checking out the facilities around your holiday destination. Maybe there is a gym you can use, or a tennis court nearby, or even go for a dip in the local pool or ocean.
- Get Down Tonight
Remember to enjoy the holiday season, but do try to stay active, so you can stay on track with your fitness goals, and when the New Year hits, you don’t have to put losing weight back on the resolutions. If you have other tips to staying on track with your fitness goals, share them with #XSSN and #XSSportsNutrition via our XS Instagram and facebook page today.
There's plenty of time to break out in a dance over the Christmas holidays, so be the first one on the dance floor and show off your moves. Not only will you enjoy yourself but you will also be staying active.
